Nutmegs
Ingredients
- 500g kidney beans
- 2 onions
- 1 cup plain flour
- 2 tbsp ginger
- 4 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 green chillies
- Oil for frying
Method
- Wash beans and soak in water overnight with salt.
- Boil the beans in pressure cooker in minimum water for twenty minutes.
- Cool the beans and mash in processor to make a paste.
- Dice onion and chillies and grate ginger.
- Add onion, chillies, salt, ginger and plain flour to the mashed paste and mix thoroughly.
- Make small balls of 1-inch size with wet hands and flatten them.
- Fry them in hot oil.
- The nutmegs can be stored in freezer and can be used whenever required as snakes in bread.
