White Chane
Ingredients
- 250g chane
- A pinch of sodium-bi-carbonate
- 2 onions
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tomato
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp red chilli
- Desired amount of salt
- 1/4 tsp tamarind paste
- 1 tbsp oil
Method
- Soak chane overnight in water just enough to absorb
- Pressure boil chane with salt and sod-bi-carbonate for 30 minutes
- In a pan, add oil and stir fry ginger, one diced onion, cumin seeds, black pepper, red/green chilli. Cook it till it leaves oil then add tamarind paste and add to chane
- Cook chane with constant stirring and mix the masala, add more boiled water if you desire
- While serving, garnish with long cut onions and tomatoes.
- Chane can be served with Puries, Naans and Butaras.
