Date and Walnut Cake (Eggless)


  • 2 ½ cup self-raising powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 60g butter
  • 50g pitted dates
  • 50g walnuts
  • 1 tbsp yoghurt
  • ½ tsp sodium bicarbonate


  1. Cut dates and walnuts into small pieces.
  2. Preheat oven at 180º C.
  3. Place dates, butter and bicarbonate in 1 cup of boiling for 15 minutes.
  4. Mix sugar, self-rising flour, walnuts and yoghurt and stir well.
  5. Add date mixture in the above ingredients and mix properly.
  6. Pour mixture in the baking paper greased in the baking tray and bake for 40 minutes.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes.

Slice and Serve with Ice Cream
